This story is about struggle of
life. In the limitedness that had by the injured man, he still had any hope. It
was knotted when he has often checked his gun and hope there was one bullet in
it. So, he could shoot an animal for his food. But unfortunately, it wasn’t.
Although this story is full of
torture, but it has dissolved my feeling. The essential of the story is about
how this life is substantial eventhough there is no way to survive. Even it
hurts so much, life must goes on. Besides, this story also teaches that not
every expensive thing is precious one. When the injured man had the bag full of
small pieces of gold, he threw a half of those away. Because he need the slight
bag so that he could walk and come out from the torture. He only need food or
something to treat his injured foot, not gold anyway.
The figure ‘Bill’ was described as
if a selfish man with the bad destiny in the end. I guess that Bill left the
injured man because he wanted to obtain the food as soon as possible. The
injured man can only blocked him to that aim. But finally, he got punished
because of his evil.
About the ending, I’m not really
understand about the injured man’s condition. Keep a lot of bread under his
shirt, it looks a bit crazy attitude. It maybe indicates that he really
appreciate the thing he hardly to get before. Or maybe the purpose so that he
doesn’t fall into the same hole. I think he is a little bit of trauma, but I
hope he will live a good life if this story has any continuation. J
